Carole's love of flowers started many years ago, when she decided to take the City and Guilds qualifications in Floral design. Since then she trained in Covent Garden, constantly improving her skills and developing new ideas. Laura completed a degree in Urban Land Economics and worked in the Surveying sector before seeing a gap in the market and starting White Petals and Lace. With a passion for sculpture, floral art seemed an excellent outlay for her artistic ability, she then trained in Covent Garden to learn the skills of the trade. By combing both sets of skills, this enabled Carole and Laura to create a welcoming country shop in the heart of the peak district.
White Petals and Lace donate 10% of profits on flowers to a very worthwhile cause, Helen's Trust, which is a Derbyshire and Sheffield based charity helping people with incurable illnesses stay in their own home. The charity was initially started in memory of Helen Lyon, a member of our family who is dearly missed. By donating to the charity we feel that we can give something back to help terminally ill people like Helen, fulfill their wishes in the last stages of their lives. We also provide a service for funeral flowers to enable you to pay a tribute to your love ones. Please use our contact page or ring for details of this service.
